Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Forev (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a Delaware C-Corporation operating forev.life. We build technology that helps people preserve their life stories, voice, and presence for their families. Contact us at hello@forev.life.

2. What We Collect

• Account data: name, email address, profile photo (via Clerk)
• Memory content: text entries, voice recordings, photos you upload
• Biometric data: voice recordings used to train a voice clone (with explicit consent)
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps
• Payment data: processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers
• Location: country-level, for US-only service restriction (MaxMind GeoLite2)

3. Biometric Data (BIPA)

We collect voice recordings and derived voice models that qualify as biometric data under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and similar state laws. Before collecting any biometric data, we obtain written consent explaining:

• The specific purpose for collection (voice clone creation)
• The length of time data will be stored and used
• Whether and how data will be shared with third parties (Fish Audio for model training)

You may revoke biometric consent at any time by deleting your voice recordings from Settings. We will delete all derived models within 30 days of revocation.

4. Posthumous Data Handling

Your memories and AI persona may be accessed by designated family members after death, subject to your Consent Vault settings and verification of death by the executor you designate. We comply with applicable posthumous data statutes including the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act (RUFADAA). You may revoke or restrict family access at any time before death by updating your Consent Vault.

5. How We Use Your Data

• Provide the memory archive, voice clone, and Eternal portal features
• Generate AI enrichments (summaries, tags, emotion detection) using Anthropic Claude
• Train your personalized voice model using Fish Audio (paid tiers only, with consent)
• Send transactional emails via Resend
• Process payments via Stripe

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your memories to train general AI models.

6. Data Retention

Active account data is retained while your account is active. Voice recordings are stored on AWS S3 with Glacier archival after 90 days of inactivity. On account deletion, all personal data is deleted within 30 days. Biometric data is deleted within 30 days of revocation or account deletion.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Revoke biometric consent
• Restrict or object to certain processing

8. Geographic Restrictions

Forev is currently available to US residents only. We use country-level geolocation to enforce this restriction. EU and international expansion will be accompanied by full GDPR compliance before launch.

9. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. S3 media files are accessed via presigned URLs only — never public. Clerk handles authentication with industry-standard security. We conduct regular security reviews.
